Toulouse Shock With Cheslin Kolbe Flyhalf Switch

French giants Toulouse has made the surprise move of naming World Cup winning winger Cheslin Kolbe at flyhalf for Sunday’s crucial Top 14 clash with Racing 92.

Kolbe has been in great form for a number of years and is recognized as one of the top wingers in world rugby at present.

Kolbe has proven himself to be a very versatile player in the past, spending some time as cover for scrumhalf during the 2019 World Cup… a tournament where he ended up scoring three tries (all at wing) including one in the final against England.

Toulouse is missing a few key players to Six Nations duty with France and also suspension, so most would agree it is a risky move.

Racing 92’s starting flyhalf is Finn Russell, currently exiled from the Scotland team after breach of team protocol and a public spat with coach Gregor Townsend.
